The greenhouse is providing an abundance of salads, chard, spinach and spring cabbage. Our stratified seeds both of edibles and ornamentals are germinating nicely after our harsh spring. All our home propagated plants are now growing strongly and it is always an exciting time of year when buds are bursting into fresh growth, with the extra rain after our dry spell you can almost see the leaves unfurling.
The bulbs in our naturalised bee meadow are providing a stunning and successional spring display alongside perennials like oxslips, drumstick primulas, lungwort, lady's smock and spectacular dandelions. This area is in its third year of transition from rough cut lawn to a flowery mead and corridor for wildlife.
